This is the eighth installment of how Steve Stone, Master Plumber and ShuBee® CEO, propelled his own plumbing company to success. 

 

Utility companies knew that if you owned a company and were a part of a success group you had a business with a solid foundation and sound business practices. At the time, my company was doing roughly $5.5 million in sales. I had 2 utility companies interested in purchasing my business and in 1999 I sold my company to Northwest Utility Company.

Over the years I’ve been really fortunate to meet so many great people and I am extremely grateful to these brilliant men and women. If it wasn’t for their knowledge and willingness to help I wouldn’t be sitting here today. For business owners starting out, I really believe that you’ve got to keep your mind open, you’ve got to be willing to ask for and accept help and you have to get outside of your marketplace and join a success group!

I am now fortunate to be able to share what I learned over the years with other companies. That’s what we are doing at ShuBee®,  taking all the knowledge I gained over the years in my own service company and continually evolving and developing products and strategies that help business owners to grow to their greatest potential.
