How to get FREE advertising

The question I hear most from our clients is, "How do I get them in the door?"
It seems small businesses, in particuliar, constantly struggle with new marketing ideas to attract new business or keep current business coming back in the door. Even if you had an unlimited budget, that's still not a guarantee that once they're in the door that they will buy - or if they buy, will they continue to buy.
So - how do you get them in the door?
The first thing you have to do is make them want to come to you. According to sales coach, Jeffrey Gitomer, this means you are working toward your "personal market dominance." This applies to your business, your community, and your community workplace. When you become known as a person of value, then and only then, can you make valuable connections.
That means you have to network.
Whether it's at a football game, business meeting, or social gathering. And when you attend these functions, you must be prepared to actually meet people and prepare for who you would like to meet. Some creative ways you can get people to know you that sales experts recommend:
1. Donate a service/product to a charity. Pass along your service to the local newspapers, complete with picture & bragging rights.
2. Participate in a fund raising event.
3. Join a professional organization.
4. Volunteer to chair a committee.
5. Volunteer to speak or teach a group about something you're a subject matter expert on, which of course,
is related to your business.
6. Make them want to meet you!
7. Put yourself in front of people.
8. Engage your potential clients in conversation by asking open-ended questions.
9. Provide excellent value-added service & technical support.
It's a fact, if you put yourself in front of people at every opportunity, they will be talking about you all over town.
