Jeff Grossarth has been installing floors since he was 13 when he began helping a neighbor with his flooring installation company in Seattle, Washington. At the age of 17 Jeff decided that he wanted to start his own business and in 1980 started Jeff’s Flooring.
In the 1990s Grossarth moved his business to Cookeville, Tennessee and has been installing floors throughout that region ever since. It was during one particular installation several years ago, in a home located in one of Cookeville’s upscale areas, Grossarth witnessed a catastrophe that changed the way he would do business forever.
“I was working on a house in one of the more prominent areas of town. Another contractor came in through the upstairs where the floors were covered with white carpet,” says Grossarth, “he tracked oil all over the floor and ended up spending over four thousand dollars to replace it.” From that moment on, Grossarth has used ShuBee® Shoe Covers to protect his client’s carpets and floors from mud, dirt, scratches and other damages that are commonly associated with in-house contractor work.
“[Using ShuBee® Shoe Covers] doesn’t do anything but help,” he states. “Anyone that works in someone’s house needs to slip on a pair of shoe covers.”
For the past seven years, Grossarth and the team at Jeff’s Flooring have been working as sub-contractor installers for Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers. In 2009, Jeff’s Flooring achieved a Gold Excellence in Installation award, the highest award possible for an installer working with Lowe’s. Jeff’s Flooring was ranked by its customers as one of the top installers in the country. He likes to give credit to his use of shoe covers, which have saved and made him so much money over the years.
“I call them my ‘wow factor,’” explains Grossarth, “people aren’t use to [service industry professionals] taking the extra step to protect their property.”
ShuBee extends sincere congratulations to Jeff Grossarth and the team at Jeff’s Flooring on this prestigious award.

Others might opt for linoleum or concrete while others prefer hardwood flooring, the important thing is that you know how to maintain and take care of it.
